Mortal Kombat Does 3D and 2D Play at the Same Time
3D glasses will pee the backgrounds bulge out in Mortal Kombat, but the fighters will look the same to everyone.
If you've got the TV to handle it, the PS3 interpretation of the new Mortal Kombat lets you toy the game with 3D effects. But preceptor't despair if you want to play some local multiplayer and you don't possess sufficiency specs to rotate, A NetherRealm says that the hoi polloi without them will still live able to play only fine.
According to series carbon monoxide-creator Ed Boon, the trick is actually quite four-needled. The backgrounds are rendered in 3D, but the fighters aren't. What this means is that if you're wearing 3D glasses, the backgrounds pop out at you, giving a sense of depth, just if you aren't wearing 3D glasses, the backgrounds leave look a little hazy and the fighters – which are rattling the big part, aft all – will remain as clear as day. Blessing said that NetherRealm didn't want the 3D scene to complicate anything or to change the basic mechanism of the game, so the 3D mode was essentially cosmetic, allowing you to focus on the fighters a bit better, without going qualification anything difficult for anyone.
It seems though, that a 3D modality for a game like Mortal Kombat couldn't in truth live anything another than cosmetic. Thither's not really much opportunity in a 2D fighter to have a parcel out of objects step up at the player. The exception could wealthy person been the X-ray hits, where you see your opponents bones breakage as you shine them, and the fatalities, simply information technology doesn't look after equivalent NetherRealm has decided to go in that direction.
A demo for Mortal Kombat, including the 3D effects, comes unstylish for PS Plus subscribers subsequent this week, while the ample game comes out for Xbox 360 and PS3 on April 19th.
